Man and Beast

Tying the foals

Man and animals live closely together, very much dependent on each other for survival. Foals are tied up to keep the parents nearby, but do not react happily to being bridled. Later in the evening they will be released to graze freely.

Some families will milk the mares who produce up to 2 liters of milk per day during the summer. The milk will then be fermented into beloved ayrag in animal skin pouches.
